Most Common Skincare Resolutions and Goals for 2022
We are well into January of 2022, and it’s a perfect time to check in on those skincare goals and resolutions you may have set.
A common theme is to vow to take better care of your skin and to do more self-care.
While that is great, it’s true that many people often make it a general goals and often don’t know where to start or lose track because there wasn’t more specific tips around the general #skincaregoals or #skincare resolution in the first place.
We are here to help with that!
Here are some of the best skincare resolutions and goals you can make!
Drink More Water
This is a basic but very important goal. It will help your overall health as well as your #skingoals.
Not drinking enough water can have serious impacts on your overall health and skin. When you’re dehydrated, your body pulls water from your skin cells. This reaction can cause your skin to appear dry and even causes dull darker circles around the eyes at time. It has a huge impact on aging as well.
So make drinking more water a specific goal.
Exercise More
Another great goal for overall health, but it can impact your skin… yes!
Exercising not only increases blood flow, which nourishes skin cells, but it also oxygenates skin cells – keeping them healthy and happy.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep has a major impact on our skin. When you sleep enough however, you can get fewer wrinkles and fine lines (because skin makes collagen while you sleep), less prominent dark circles and bags under the eyes, and your skincare products also work better when you are resting and turn down for the night.
And put that phone away!
Wash Your Face Before Bed – Always!
We know that feeling when you are too tired and it’s easier to fall asleep with the make-up on. However make it a goal not to. This is skincare 101, doing so will allow your skin cells to breathe and remain unclogged and take in oxygen and the nighttime products it needs to revitalize.
Add in Exfoliation
Exfoliating is a quick and easy way to reveal smoother, brighter, more beautiful looking skin by removing old, dead skin cells that can clog pores – causing acne and blackheads.
Once or twice a week, give yourself an all-over skin care exfoliation treatment.
Moisturize… Daily
Adding a good moisturizer to your skin daily (and once in morning and once at night) will help prevent inflamed, dry skin that can lead to wrinkles, it also adds a protective barrier to the skin, giving you a brighter glow overall.
This step really shouldn’t be skipped.
Consistency is Key
Whatever skincare resolutions or goals you choose, be true to it and do it daily. The consistent practice will make a difference and you will notice that.
Once you have mastered one goal, try another. This is a realistic way to keep the skincare goals moving forward and you are more likely to actually do it and stick to it.
